This session is an opportunity to discuss stakeholder and citizen engagement processes when it comes to reaching climate neutrality. The session will start with the European level and more specifically how citizen and stakeholder engagement activities can help achieve climate neutrality in the context of the European Mission on Climate Neutral and Smart Cities. It will then zoom in on the unique example of the MOSAIC project’s multi-stakeholder co-creation process in Gothenburg that focused on co-developing sustainable mobility solutions. There will be a round table discussion involving citizen engagement experts, city officials and politicians on the importance and added value of such processes in addressing climate issues.

Three teams of co-creators consisting of citizens, businesses, researchers and public administrations, who have been involved in the sustainable mobility co-creation process in Gothenburg for the last 5 months will present their prototypes. Their ideas as well as the details of the process will be showcased to the public. Workshop attendees will also be invited to discuss and share opinions regarding running similar citizen engagement processes in the future. What is the added value of co-creation for all parties involved? How can the outcomes and ideas coming out of such processes be used by the city? What other topics and city challenges could benefit from such processes?
